Today’s brew: Pu-erh
Today’s read: Run Wild by Wu Zhe (Volumes 1-2)
There is something about Run Wild that lured me. I was curious about how Jiang Cheng would try to navigate his new life in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people. Arriving with little on him, he is unsure about his future in this small town. Until, he meets Gu Miao, a quiet girl who loves to skateboard and he meets her brother Gu Fei, a mysterious boy who loves photography. From there, they realise that in this frigid town, there is warmth.
The place to escape to
Run Wild does a great job building it’s characters. It explores hardships and finding a place to belong. It takes time for Jiang Cheng and Gu Fei to open up to each other and it mentions a safe place of escape for the characters. Hence, I believe this series is the perfect fit for this month’s theme.
I found myself tearing up in some moments but other times, they got my giggling and kicking my feet. The relationship building between Jiang Cheng and Gu Fei feels so raw and damn satisfying. Not to mention Gu Miao, she is so adorable and must be protected!
Like myself, I didn’t know what to expect with this story or where it would go. To be honest, I really enjoyed being in the moment as we are taken on Jiang Cheng’s journey in this snow-covered town.

Final Thoughts
Run Wild is a perfect story to wrap yourself in a blanket on rainy day. If you do decide to pick this up, I hope you enjoy. The romance is a slow burn but it is worth the wait.
