Today’s brew: Genmaicha
Today’s read: I Can’t Get Through the Night Alone – Yoh Matsumoto
Set in the year 1950 post-war, Japan, Seishiro’s life has been shaped by survival, but Jim offers a kind of refuge—an escape from war-torn memories and the routine of just getting by.
Tea Pairing: Genmaicha 🍵
This tea is quite soothing, where it has this grassy taste and a toasty flavour from the roasted rice. Reminds me when Jim appeared into Seishiro’s life and he has this warm and sweet aura. It is a comforting drink for these cold winter days.
I really enjoyed the historical setting and would like to read more stories around this period. The art is beautiful and I wish I could see more interaction between the two.
